Srinagar, June 30 (GNS):Director General of Police Dilbag Singh and other officers exhorted the farmers for sowing less height crops in Basanter river bed in Samba as soil is very fertile so that land is not wasted.

Dilbag Singh along with N S Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu visited Samba border area specially Basantar river bed to review close coordination between BSF, Police and other civil agencies in view of rainy season. Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Mukesh Singh, IGP Jammu, Rohit Khajuria, DC Samba, Ravinder Sharma, representatives from other civil agencies and BSF officers also accompanied them during the visit.

“DGP J&K Police and other officers supervised the flood protection work in Basanter river and exhorted the farmers for sowing less height crops in Basanter river bed as soil is very fertile so that land is not wasted,” a police official said.

“He also emphasized for the real time close coordination with border guarding forces civil agencies and local Police so that the problem and concern of civilians can be addressed smoothly. “ IG BSF frontier N S Jamwal also briefed DGP J&K about BSF domination in the Basanter river bed area. Dilbag Singh praised the hard work put in by the border men in guarding a difficult border, the official said. He also rewarded the BSF team who shot down the Pakistani hexacopter. “The representatives of civil administration took stock of situation due to ensuing rainy season and subsequent flash flood in Basanter river and necessary steps to be taken in this regard to mitigate the problem of civil,” the official said, adding, “IG BSF N S Jamwal assured all help of BSF to farmers to carry out activities ahead of fencing.”(GNS)
