DC Kupwara finalises arrangements of Block Divas

Kupwara, Sept 14 (GNS): District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today convened a meeting of concerned officers to finalise the arrangements for holding Block Divas/Youm-e-Block, besides, Mega Events as a part of Jan Abiyan/Awami Muhim going on across the district.

The meeting discussed threadbare various aspects to make Jan Abiyan/Awami Muhim, the public welfare oriented programme a success.

The meeting was informed that Block Divas/Youme Block shall be observed on every Wednesday of September (i.e September 16, 23 and 30) at all 24 blocks of the district for which location have been identified.

It was further informed that besides observation of Block Divas, 7 Mega Events shall be held during these Wednesdays where all Supervisory Officers and District Officers will be present for the public.

The DDC asked the concerned Supervisory Officers to monitor the whole process of the Jan Abiyan/Awami Muhim programme and activities of Block Divas.

He asked Block level officers to remain present on Wednesday of this month at identified places for observation of Block Divas and also directed Assistant Commissioner Revenue to nominate Revenue officers for their presence at blocks on Block Divas to facilitate issuance of domicile and other certificates.

He also asked District officers to be present at Mega events at identified places on Wednesdays.

The DDC stressed the need for complete saturation of all eligible beneficiaries under various government welfare schemes including, KCC, PM Kissan, Student Scholarships and Construction Workers Insurance, among others.

The DDC said that officers should facilitate the BDC and PRIs for suggesting best use of sanctioned grant of Rs.10 lakh to each Panchayat so that funds could be utilized for maximum benefit of the community.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, JD Planning, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM Lolab, CAO, CEO, DPO, DFO, LDM and other concerned officers attended the meeting. (GNS)
