Uri (Baramulla), Feb 7 (GNS): At least five persons sustained burn injuries in a fire incident in Sultankadi area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching GNS said that the fire broke out of hay stock, resulting in injuries to five persons, including three belonging to the same family.

The persons injured in the incident have been identified as; Sajid Ahmad son of Abdul Razak Shiekh, Abdul Rasheed son of Abdul Kareem Turk, Roshi Begum wife of Abdul Kareem, Wahid Ahmad son of Abdul Rasheed and Mafad Ahmad son of Younis Ahmad Mir.

The injured persons were immediately evacuated to Sub-District Hospital Uri for treatment.

Meanwhile a senior police officer in Uri confirming the incident told GNS that one among the five injured persons has received serious burn injuries and have been removed to GMC Baramulla for advanced treatment.

“The other persons were rescued on time and are said to be responding well to the treatment”, the official added. (GNS)
