The impact that teachers have on their students’ lives is immeasurable. The best teachers not only impart knowledge but also inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential. In my experience as an engineering student, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from an exceptional teacher who transformed my life. I enrolled in the engineering program at an Engineering College back in 2019, with a vague idea of what I wanted to do with my life. I had chosen engineering because I was good at Maths and Science, but beyond that, I had no clear goals. It wasn’t until I met Er. Irtiza Khurshid, my Fluid Mechanics teacher, realized what I wanted to do with my life.
Er. Irtiza Khurshid has not only been a teacher; but evenly a mentor, a friend, and a guide who helped me navigate the challenges of college life. Her dedication for teaching her students was exemplary. She had an innate ability to connect with her students and understand their individual strengths and weaknesses. Her passion for teaching was contagious, and her enthusiasm for the subject matter was palpable in every class.
Beyond her expertise in core civil engineering subjects, Er. Irtiza Khurshid is an all-rounder who is knowledgeable not only in her subject area but also in other fields, such as lab work, designing and writing skills. She encouraged us to develop a well-rounded set of skills that would be valuable in our professional lives. She made me fall in love with Life and encouraged me to explore my interests and provided guidance on how to achieve my goals.
Er. Irtiza Khurshid would always be available to discuss any question or concern I had, and would provide invaluable advice and support. Beyond the classroom, she also encouraged me to participate in extracurricular activities, such as Writing Competitions, designing, and research projects. She believed in my abilities and gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams.Thanks to her emphasis on my writing skills, I was able to develop a well-rounded set of skills that has been invaluable in my professional life. I have been able to use my technical knowledge and communication skills to move on in my professional life, and I am always grateful for her guidance and support, which have left a lasting impact on my life. Her impact on my life went beyond academic and professional development. She has been instrumental in helping me deal with personal challenges, and has been a source of support and encouragement during my battles with life. She is always there to listen and provide guidance when I need it the most.
Er. Irtiza Khurshid’s impact on her students was not limited to just me. She had a way of making every student feel seen and heard, regardless of their background or academic performance. Her classroom was a safe space where students felt comfortable expressing their opinions and asking questions without fear of judgment or ridicule. She believed that every student had the potential to succeed, and she worked tirelessly to help them achieve their goals. Her ability to make her subject matter relatable and engaging was one of her greatest strengths, and it made her classes some of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of my college life. She not only taught us about the technical aspects of Fluid Mechanics but also instilled in us the importance of using our engineering knowledge to make a difference in people’s lives. Her passion for social justice and equity was evident in her teaching, and she encouraged us to use our engineering skills to create positive change in the world. Her dedication to her students was unparalleled. She went above and beyond to ensure that her students had the resources they needed to succeed. Her commitment to her students’ success was evident in the high academic performance of her students and the respect and admiration they had for her. In addition to her academic achievements, Er. Irtiza Khurshid has also been a source of inspiration for many students.
Er. Irtiza Khurshid recently resigned from College, leaving us students heartbroken and devastated. It feels like a part of my college experience has been taken away from me. Understanding that everyone has their reasons for making such decisions, it is difficult not to feel a sense of loss when someone who has had such a significant impact on our lives leaves. Her dedication to teaching and her students will be greatly missed, and it will be hard to fill the void left by her absence. Nevertheless, I wish her all the best in her future endeavors, and I am grateful for the time I had with her. Her guidance, support, and encouragement will stay with me forever, and I will always cherish the memories of our time together at College. I will continue to work hard, pursue my dreams, and make her proud. After all, that is what she would have wanted for me.
