Police in Baramulla have arrested 04 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities in the orchards near Kuta Morh Pattan, a police party headed by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan raided the specific spot and apprehended 04 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹5300/- & playing cards from their possession. They have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Darzi son of Gh Nabi resident of Pattan, Hilal Ahmad Sofi @ Pinna son of Noor Din resident of Sofi Mohalla Pattan, Bashir Ahmad Gojri son of Ab Gaffar resident of Jamia Mohalla Pattan & Zahoor Ahmad Sofi @ DC son of Mohd Rajab resident of Pattan. They have been shifted to PS Pattan where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
