January 26: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police in Pulwama recovered a huge quantity of contraband substance by arresting an accused person.
Acting on specific information received through reliable sources, a police party of Police Post Newa conducted a successful operation in Sheikh Mohalla, Newa, leading to the recovery of a substantial quantity of contraband substances. During the operation, a police team raided the residence of Mehraj Din Sheikh son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh resident of Newa and recovered two nylon sacks containing 9.75Kgs of charas powder-like substance, besides arrested the accused person.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 22/25 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
