Srinagar, June 28 : A man working as a cable operator died after receiving an electric shock and falling from a pole in the Zewan area of Panthachowk Srinagar district on Saturday.
Reports reaching to the news agency JKNS that the deceased was identified as Bilal Ahmad Wani, aged around 34 years, and a resident of Zewan Panthachowk.
He was reportedly repairing handling cable work when he came in contact with a live wire, resulting in an electric shock and fall.
He was immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital Pampore in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, they said.
Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and further proceedings have been initiated. (JKNS)
