August 12: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Police in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police team at a checkpoint established at Maharajpora, Sopore arrested a drug peddler identified as Himayun Rasool Kundoo son of Ghulam Rasool Kundoo resident of Sher Colony, Sopore. During search, substantial quantity of poppy straw was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 157/2025 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated.
J&K Police reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and urges the public to cooperate by sharing information related to drug peddling so that decisive action can be taken against those involved.
