PSAJK Acknowledges Unmatched Contributions of G.N. Var To Private Education Sector In J&K

Srinagar, 12 Oct, 2025: Emotional scenes were witnessed today as G.N Var, the long-serving State President of the Private Schools’ Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK), announced his retirement after more than 15 years of exceptional leadership. His decision driven by personal reasons and new professional commitments marks the end of an extraordinary era that transformed the educational landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

Throughout his remarkable journey, Mr. Var emerged as the voice, strength and guardian of private education in the region. He stood firm during the most challenging times, safeguarding the interests of schools, teachers and students alike. His vision brought unity among private institutions, credibility to their work and recognition at both state and national levels.

At a deeply emotional gathering, members of the Executive Council and prominent educationists paid glowing tributes to his selfless service. Speakers hailed him as a “true legend of education”, whose tireless efforts not only elevated educational standards but also inspired a spirit of integrity, innovation and excellence within the schooling system of Jammu and Kashmir.

Over the years, G.N Var resolved thousands of pressing issues faced by schools and worked persistently for policy reforms, fair regulations and the overall dignity of the teaching fraternity and student community. His leadership not only brought credibility and strength to PSAJK but also elevated the standards and image of private education across the region.

Chief Organizer of PSAJK Shah Gulzar, said “G.N. Var’s dedication and tireless efforts have been pivotal in promoting the private school sector in Jammu and Kashmir. His vision, commitment to quality education and continuous support to educators have left an indelible mark on our community. We are deeply grateful for his service and leadership.”

Mr. Gulzar further added that while G.N Var’s retirement marks the close of a remarkable chapter, it also opens new opportunities for emerging leaders to build upon the strong foundation he has laid.

As G.N. Var retires, he expressed full confidence in the association’s future and extended his heartfelt best wishes to the newly appointed Adhoc President, Nazar-ul-Islam Baba, who will serve for a period of three months to oversee free and fair elections of PSAJK.

Mr. Var shared in an emotional farewell “Leadership is about creating more leaders. I have complete faith that PSAJK will continue to grow and safeguard the interests of private schools with unity, integrity and dedication. I am deeply grateful to all the office bearers, Executive Council members, general members and all district bodies of PSAJK, who have always supported me and stood by my side throughout this journey.”

In response, the Association collectively extended its deepest gratitude to Mr. G.N Var for his unmatched service, visionary leadership and tireless contributions. Members wished him good health, happiness and continued success in all his future endeavors, acknowledging the enduring legacy he leaves behind in the private education sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
