Sopore, Feb 01 : Police on Sunday busted a gambling racket at a public place in the Shalpora area of Dangerpora in Sopore and arrested four persons, officials said.
As per news agency Kashmir News Corner—(KNC) that a police team from Police Post Warpora conducted a raid following specific information and apprehended the accused while they were allegedly engaged in illegal card gambling, they said.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Muzaffar Dar, Jahangir Ahmad Najar, Nazir Ahmad Pandith and Abdul Rashid Dar, all residents of Dangerpora.
Police seized cash amounting to Rs 14,500 along with playing cards from the spot, the officials said.
A case under Section 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Sopore police station and further investigation is underway.—(KNC)
