February 24: Police in Pulwama organised a special training session on effective investigation of cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Conference Hall, DPL Pulwama. The programme was aimed at strengthening the professional competence of Investigating Officers (IOs) dealing with sensitive cases involving children. The session focused on legal provisions of the POCSO Act, victim-centric approach, proper documentation, scientific evidence collection, coordination with medical and forensic teams, and timely completion of investigation.

Shri Mudasir Farooq, Hon’ble Sub Judge and Secretary DLSA Pulwama, attended the session as Guest Speaker and delivered a detailed lecture on procedural safeguards, ensuring child-friendly practices during investigation, and maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity while handling such cases.

The training was attended by SHOs, Investigating Officers and officials from various Police Stations and Police Posts of the district. Senior officers of District Police Pulwama also interacted with the participants and emphasised strict adherence to legal guidelines to ensure justice to victims and accountability of offenders.

J&K Police remains committed to enhancing the skills of its personnel through continuous training initiatives and ensuring robust child protection mechanisms.
