April 09: In a continued drive to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, Police teams of Police Station Qazigund conducted inspections in coordination with the Drugs Inspector within the jurisdiction.
During the course of the drive, irregularities were found in pharmaceutical establishments. Acting promptly, the Police teams of Police Station Qazigund, in coordination with the Drugs Inspector, seized the establishments and initiated legal action as warranted under law. Two more medical shops were found violating the provisions of Section 18 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and were accordingly sealed. The sealed establishments have been identified as Shariff Medical Store and Parray Medical Store.
J&K Police have reiterated that strict action will be taken against any individual or establishment found indulging in practices that compromise public health and safety. All shop owners are advised to strictly adhere to prescribed norms and maintain proper records as mandated under law. Such drives will continue in future to ensure compliance and safeguard public health.
