April 09: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, J&K Police arrested a drug peddler in the Beerwah area of Budgam and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police team of Police Station Beerwah led by ASI Ghulam Hassan intercepted and apprehended a suspicious person. During search, ground ganja-like substance weighing approximately 1 kg 233 grams, along with a charas-like substance in stick form wrapped in corn husk weighing about 22 grams, were recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 57/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Beerwah, and further investigation is underway. The accused has been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Mir, son of Ali Mohammad Mir, resident of Utligam Beerwah.
