Medical Shop Shut in South Kashmir for Illegal Sale of Restricted Drugs

Anantnag, Apr 15 : In a strict enforcement drive under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Drug Control Department Anantnag on Wednesday sealed a medical shop for alleged unethical sale of Schedule H1 medicines and serious violations of regulatory norms.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Drug Control Department, Anantnag closed the operation of a medical shop namely Itoo Medical store KP road Paibugh Anantnag for unethical sale of schedule H1 medicines.

As part of the ongoing campaign under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a joint inspection drive was carried out today on 15.04.2026 in District Anantnag by the Drug Control Department in coordination with the Police department.

During the drive, the team inspected Itoo Medical Store, KP Road, Paibugh, Anantnag and thoroughly examined the sale-purchase records of Schedule H1 drugs.

Serious violations were found in the maintenance of records for Schedule H1 medicines and dispensing of scheduled medicines without prescription.

Taking immediate action, the operation of said chemist shop was closed on the spot and further proceedings for cancellation of the drug license have been initiated as per rules.

The Drug Control Department reiterates its commitment to strict enforcement against the illegal sale of psychotropic and habit-forming drugs to make the district drug-free. (KNC)
