April 16: In continuation of action against the circulation of rumours on social media, Police in Sopore have arrested three persons for spreading misleading information and sharing old videos by portraying them as recent incidents, with the intent to disturb public peace and order.

Earlier, FIR No. 93/2026 was registered at Police Station Sopore against individuals involved in spreading rumours through various social media platforms. Acting swiftly, Sopore Police identified and apprehended the involved persons.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

J&K Police strongly advise the general public to refrain from creating, sharing or amplifying unverified content on social media, as such actions may attract strict legal consequences.
