New Delhi, April 17: The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) has appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Indian Embassy in Dubai to urgently intervene in tracing a youth from Kashmir who has been missing since late March, raising concerns over his safety and whereabouts.

According to AIMSA, Asif Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Butpora Dialgam in Anantnag district, has not been in contact with his family since March 29, the day he last spoke to them. His disappearance has caused anxiety among family members, who are awaiting any information regarding his condition.

The association said that the matter requires immediate diplomatic attention and coordinated efforts between authorities to verify his status and establish contact.

Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan, National Vice President of AIMSA, has formally urged the MEA and the Indian Embassy in Dubai to take swift action to trace the missing youth. He emphasized the need for administrative coordination to check records, engage local authorities, and utilize all available channels to locate him.

He said delays in such cases increase distress for families and called for prompt intervention to ensure necessary assistance is extended.

AIMSA has also requested the Indian Embassy in Dubai to actively coordinate with local agencies and monitor the situation closely, while urging the MEA to ensure that all support mechanisms are put in place.

“A family is living in pain and uncertainty. We sincerely hope the concerned authorities will act swiftly and help reunite him with his loved ones,” Dr. Khan said.

The association reiterated its commitment to supporting families in distress and called on relevant institutions to prioritize humanitarian concerns in such cases. [KNT]
