Srinagar, May 20: Renowned surgical oncologist and robotic cancer specialist Dr Asim Rizvi, a native of Nabdipora Hawal in Srinagar, passed away in Noida following a suspected cardiac arrest, reports said on Wednesday.

The sudden demise of Dr Rizvi has sent shockwaves across the medical community, with colleagues, patients and admirers mourning the loss of a distinguished cancer surgeon known for his dedication and compassionate care.

Dr Rizvi was serving as Principal Director of Surgical Oncology and Robotic Surgery at Yashoda Medicity. He was widely acclaimed for his expertise in advanced gastrointestinal, colorectal, liver and pancreatic cancer surgeries, especially minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures.

Sources said Dr Rizvi suffered a sudden heart-related medical emergency. However, no official statement confirming the exact cause of death had been issued till the filing of this report.
