Kulgam, May 21: Police in Kulgam on Thursday said that a suspected militant associate, who was earlier allegedly taken into custody by the Special Operations Group (SOG), was apprehended near his native village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
According to officials, the individual has been identified as Adil Hussain Lone, son of Mohd Sadiq Lone, a resident of Mohmadpora Kulgam. Police stated that he was intercepted near Mohmadpora village and two hand grenades along with some posters were allegedly recovered from his possession.
Sources said the same person had reportedly been picked up by SOG Kulgam on April 29, 2026.
Police have registered a case under FIR No. 88/2026 at Police Station Kulgam under Sections 13, 16 and 18-B of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act besides Sections 3/4 of the Explosive Substances Act. Further investigation into the matter is underway.(KNC)
