May 30: Continuing its sustained efforts against the menace of drugs, J&K Police arrests a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party of Police Station Safapora during routine naka checking at Puttarmulla Safapora near Daller Mode, Manasbal intercepted & apprehended a suspicious person. He was identified as Salim Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Kondbal Safapora. During his personal search, approximately 04 grams of heroin-like substance and 20 grams of charas-like substance were recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 11/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Safapora, and further investigation is underway.
Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and urges the public to cooperate by sharing information about drug-related activities in their areas.
