Srinagar, May 31: Security forces apprehended a Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) intruder and two residents of Sopore during separate operations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Sunday.
News agency GNS quoted officials as saying that alert troops of the Army intercepted an intruder while he was attempting to cross the LoC in Uri sector. “The individual was challenged and taken into custody after a swift operation by the troops.”
The apprehended intruder, officials said, was subsequently handed over to Jammu and Kashmir Police for further legal proceedings.
In another operation, launched on the basis of specific intelligence inputs, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint search operation in the general area of Uri.
“During the operation, two persons from Sopore were apprehended while attempting to exfiltrate through the Uri sector along with a guide,” officials said adding “Initial investigation has indicated suspicious intent, while further probe into the matter is underway.”
