Srinagar, June 15: A five-year-old girl was admitted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar in critical condition after sustaining multiple injuries in a road accident in the Handwara area of north Kashmir.

The injured child has been identified as Zara, daughter of Mohammad Shafi Bhat, a resident of Batakote, Handwara.

According to family members, Zara was hit by an Alto car near Rajwar Adda in Handwara, resulting in serious injuries.

She was initially shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment. However, due to the severity of her condition, doctors referred her to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialized medical care.

Hospital sources said the child was admitted to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit  of SMHS Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

Medical officials described her condition as critical.
