June 15: Continuing its sustained crackdown against narcotics trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police in Sopore have obtained orders from the Hon’ble Court under Section 52A of the NDPS Act for disposal through auction of another conveyance seized in an NDPS case registered at Police Station Sopore.

The seized vehicle was allegedly used in the transportation and commission of offences related to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Following completion of the requisite legal formalities, the Hon’ble Court has permitted disposal of the vehicle through public auction as per law.

With this, eight conveyances seized in NDPS cases have been processed for disposal/auction by Sopore Police under Section 52A of the NDPS Act. The auction process in respect of the earlier seven conveyances has already been initiated, with one vehicle having been successfully disposed of through public auction.

The action forms part of J&K Police’s broader strategy to target not only drug peddlers but also the logistical infrastructure used in narcotics trafficking. Timely disposal of seized conveyances also prevents deterioration of assets during prolonged judicial proceedings while ensuring compliance with the provisions of law.

J&K Police reiterates that strict action against drug trafficking networks will continue and all conveyances and assets used in narcotics-related offences shall be proceeded against in accordance with law.

J&K Police remains committed to the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan and to building a safer, healthier and drug-free society.
