Man Injured After Lightning Strike in Kupwara

Kupwara, June 16: A man sustained burn injuries after being struck by lightning in the Wani Doursa area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.

Reports said the incident occurred during inclement weather when lightning struck the area, injuring Showkat Khursheed Mir (45), son of Khursheed Ahmad Mir, a resident of Wani Doursa.

The victim suffered burn injuries on his leg, abdomen and left arm.

Local residents immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the injured man to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sogam for medical treatment.

Hospital sources said the injured was admitted for treatment, while his condition was being monitored by doctors.
