Rajouri Deputy Commissioner to Continue in AGMUT Cadre Beyond July 8, 2026 Following ACC Approval
Jammu, June 27: The Central Government has approved the extension of the inter-cadre deputation of IAS officer Abhishek Sharma from the Chhattisgarh cadre to the AGMUT cadre (Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir) for another year beyond July 8, 2026. The decision was cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) in relaxation of the existing deputation policy.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the extension has been granted following approval by the ACC, allowing the officer to continue serving in Jammu and Kashmir.
Abhishek Sharma, a 2018-batch IAS officer, is presently posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri. His continuation in the AGMUT cadre is expected to ensure administrative continuity in the border district, where he has been overseeing key governance, development, and public welfare initiatives.
The extension comes as part of the Centre’s ongoing efforts to maintain experienced administrative leadership in Jammu and Kashmir by retaining officers on inter-cadre deputation to strengthen governance and public service delivery.(KNC)
