Srinagarz June 30(GNS): Baramulla Police on Monday issued a traffic advisory for tourists visiting Gulmarg during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, barring movement of tourist vehicles after 5:00 PM on the Gulmarg-Srinagar route.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that as per the advisory issued by Police Baramulla, no tourist vehicle will be permitted to proceed from Gulmarg towards Srinagar after 1700 hours. Similarly, movement of tourist vehicles from Srinagar towards Gulmarg will also remain suspended after 5:00 PM.

The restrictions will remain in force throughout the notified Yatra period to ensure safe and seamless movement of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra convoys and effective traffic management, police said.

Tourists have been advised to plan their travel well in advance and complete onward and return journeys within the prescribed timings. Police have urged visitors to strictly follow directions of personnel deployed along the route.

“These measures have been instituted purely in the interest of public safety, traffic regulation and the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra–2026,” the advisory read.

Baramulla Police has sought cooperation from tourists, hoteliers, transport operators and the general public, stating that any inconvenience caused is regretted but necessary for the safety and security of all road users.

The advisory was issued in coordination with Traffic Headquarters J&K and ZPHQ Kashmir.(GNS)
