Srinagar, July 7: In a significant move aimed at strengthening healthcare services and improving patient care across Jammu and Kashmir, the Health and Medical Education Department on Tuesday ordered the posting and adjustment of 30 doctors, who were awaiting orders at the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu/Kashmir, at various hospitals and health institutions across the Union Territory with immediate effect.
According to Government Order No. 534-JK(HME) of 2026, dated July 7, 2026, the postings have been made in the interest of administration and patient care. The transferred doctors include consultants, medical officers, specialists, and dental surgeons who have been deployed to district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres facing vacancies.
Among the major postings, Dr. Nalini Birpur (Consultant Ophthalmology) has been posted to AH Chowki Chaura, Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Tahir (Consultant Medicine) to SDH D.H. Pora, Dr. Iqbal Mushtaq Bhat (DNB Paediatrics) to SDH Uri, Dr. Mairaj U Din Wani (MD Medicine) to SDH Tangdhar, Dr. Rayees Ahmed Khanday (MS Surgery) to SDH Bhaderwah, Dr. Wasim Qadir (DNB Paediatrics) to CHC Gurez, Dr. Shariq Hussain (MS Orthopaedics) to DH Bandipora, Dr. Hina Ishaq (MD Psychiatry) to DH Budgam, while several dental surgeons have been posted to health institutions in Baramulla, Kupwara, Pulwama and other districts.
The order further directs the Director, Health Services, Jammu/Kashmir, to ensure implementation of the postings and submit a compliance report to the Administrative Department within five days. The order has been issued by the Health and Medical Education Department under the approval of the Government.(KNC)
