Srinagar, July 09 (GNS): A massive fire that broke out in a textile factory in Zakura Industrial Area of Srinagar on Thursday was brought under control after a large-scale firefighting operation.
Officials told GNS that one civilian, identified as Mohd Haseeb Khan, was found unconscious inside the factory premises. He was safely rescued by Fire & Emergency Services personnel and shifted to a hospital in an F&ES ambulance.Doctors said his condition is stated to be stable.
Fire tenders from multiple stations were pressed into service to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent units.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The extent of damage to the factory will be assessed once the cooling process is completed.
