Kupwara, August 7 : Police in Kupwara have solved a theft case involving a copper water tank belonging to a Masjid within 10 hours of receiving the complaint.
An official said that the theft was reported at Police Station Sogam. Acting swiftly, multiple police teams were constituted and an investigation was launched.
“Through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, technical evidence, and other investigative leads, the accused was identified and apprehended,” the official said.
During the course of investigation, the stolen copper water tank was recovered. The vehicle used in the commission of the offence was also seized, he added.
In this regard, FIR No. 34/2026 has been registered at Police Station Sogam under relevant provisions of law. Further investigation is underway.
