Srinagar 14 August, 2026: The Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Srinagar has convicted Ghulam Nabi Dar, the then Executive Engineer, REW Ganderbal, and Mohd. Shameem Parra, the then Orderly in the trap case registered by VOK (now ACB) Srinagar.
The case FIR No. 02/2014 PS VOK (Now ACB) was registered in connection with the demand and acceptance of illegal gratification during the processing of a contractor’s bill.
The Court held both accused guilty under the relevant provisions of the J&K Prevention of Corruption: – Criminal misconduct under Section 5(2) read with Section 5(1)(d) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, – Accepting illegal gratification under Section 4-A of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, – Criminal conspiracy under Section 120B of the Ranbir Penal Code and sentenced each convict to four years’ simple imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000 on each count, with the sentences to run concurrently.
The case was represented before the Court on behalf of ACB by Spl. Public Prosecutor, Wajahat Jamil (CPO).The judgment was pronounced on 14.08.2026 by the Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Srinagar Shri Tasleem Arief.
