Anshul Garg urges people to rely on authentic government channels; assures security arrangements for employees and residents
Srinagar, Aug 14: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Friday said that no orders, including any work-from-home directive, have been issued for PM Package employees, urging people to rely only on authentic information released by the government and administration.
Speaking to reporters, as per news agency JKNS, Garg said elaborate security arrangements were being made by security agencies for employees, residents and people participating in Independence Day celebrations across Kashmir.
“Look, no such orders have been issued, of any kind. So, I think that all of us should rely on the authentic information channels, which are issued by the government and the administration. We should trust them,” he said.
His remarks came in response to a question regarding reports of a work-from-home call and an alleged verbal order concerning PM Package employees.
The Divisional Commissioner said security agencies were making arrangements for the safety of all employees and residents, particularly in view of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
On preparations for Independence Day, Garg extended greetings to the people and said a full-dress rehearsal had already been held at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
He said parade contingents, cultural groups and security personnel had been preparing for the national event for nearly 20 days and were making efforts to ensure its successful conduct.
Garg also said security forces had reviewed the arrangements in detail to ensure adequate security during the celebrations.
He invited residents of Kashmir, particularly people from Srinagar, to attend the Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium, where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will take the salute at 10 am on Saturday.
“I would like to request all of you to be a part of tomorrow’s event, in your districts or in Srinagar,” he said. (JKNS)
