Poonch, Sep 09 (GNS): Police have arrested two persons for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting a Class 7 student in Mendhar area of Poonch district.
Officials told GNS that a man lodged a complaint at Police Station Gursai stating that his minor daughter was abducted and assaulted while she was returning home on September 6. She had boarded a cab driven by Zahoor Mushtaq alias Sonu who allegedly took her to his house along with his friend Mohd Irfan.
Acting on the complaint, police registered FIR No. 95/2026 at Police Station Gursai under Sections 70(2), 127(3) and 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Both accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway.(GNS)
