Srinagar, Sep 10 (GNS): Srinagar Police has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking, attaching and freezing immovable properties worth over Rs 6.22 crore in six separate NDPS cases.
Police in a handout to GNS said that the latest actions were carried out by Police Stations Nigeen and Zakura, along with earlier proceedings by Police Stations Shalteng, Ahmad Nagar and Lal Bazar.
In the latest action, Police Station Nigeen attached a double-storey residential house along with land worth approximately Rs 1.10 crore at Danihama, Hazratbal belonging to Mubashir Ashiq Teeli son of Ashiq Hussain Teeli of Saderbal, presently at Danihama, in FIR No. 24/2026 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act. The attachment was made under Section 68-F(1) of NDPS Act.
In another action, Police Station Zakura attached a residential house and land worth Rs 1.14 crore at Mulphaq Abu Baker Colony, Hazratbal belonging to Zubair Ahmad Rather son of Mohd Shaban Rather of Lariyal Tral, presently Abu Baker Colony, in FIR No. 44/2026 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act.
Earlier, Police Station Shalteng had frozen a property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to Mohd. Altaf Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar of Mujgund in FIR No. 76/2025. The property comprises a single-storey house along with 11.5 marlas land. In another case of same Police Station, property worth Rs 43 lakh belonging to Riyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Panzinara was frozen in FIR No. 87/2025.
Police Station Ahmad Nagar attached property worth Rs 2.2 crore belonging to Owais Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Hassan Mir of Baghaat Shoora in FIR No. 09/2025 under Sections 8/21/27-A/29 NDPS Act. The attachment was made after confirmation by Competent Authority SAFEMA, New Delhi.
Police Station Lal Bazar attached a double-storey house along with 3.5 marlas land worth more than Rs 35 lakh belonging to Waseem Ahmad Langoo son of Farooq Ahmad Langoo of Lal Bazar in FIR No. 52/2023.
Police said the attachment orders restrain the owners from selling, leasing, transferring or creating any third-party interest.
With these actions, police said properties worth over Rs 6.22 crore have been attached/frozen, reflecting zero-tolerance towards drug trafficking and targeting its financial infrastructure under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.(GNS)
