Poonch, Sep 20 (GNS): A 10-year-old boy drowned in Surankote area of Poonch district on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
They told GNS that the boy namely Zia-ul-Rehman, son of Shoket Hussain, resident of Chanansar, Sailan, had come with his mother to a Chakki Atta Mill (Gharat) at Sailan in afternoon.
The boy went missing from there, following which his family started searching for him in the nearby area along the river.
Later, at about 5:30 PM, his body was recovered from the river.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident while more details are awaited.(GNS)
