Srinagar/Jammu, Jan 9: Incumbent AROC-cum-Assistant Liquidator Jammu and Kashmir, Haamid Bukhari in a meeting reviewed status of pending liquidation matters in Jammu and Kashmir. The official on the occasion directed for effective disposal of all such matters in a time-bound manner.
An official privy to the meeting said that the AROC Haamid Bukhari, attached to the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, during a meeting chaired at Srinagar office, sought an explanatory review of each case and the steps being taken to dispose them off.
“Each of the pending cases’ were discussed at length and directions were passed based on priority of the case and quantum of public interest involved”, the official said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Office of Liquidator has a statutory backing under Companies Act, 1956 and the officer stands attached to the respective High Courts.
The liquidation matters, as per the official, involve taking into possession of the company’s assets under liquidation as per directions of Honorable High Court which is then followed by selling them through auctions to pay back the due share of stakeholders involved.
“There are more than fifteen matters at different stages of liquidation pending with the Official Liquidator’s office”, the official added.
