BSF Officer Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle inside Camp in North Kashmir

Kupwara, Mar 10 : A Border Security Force (BSF) Assistant Sub-Inspector died after being accidentally hit by a departmental vehicle inside a BSF camp in Kupwara district on Tuesday.

Officials told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that the BSF personnel, identified as ASI Omprakash, son of Mukat Nath, presently posted at 127 Battalion BSF Camp Kupwara, was performing his duties inside the camp premises when a departmental vehicle reportedly went out of control and hit him.

He sustained grievous injuries in the incident and was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Kupwara for treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

The body has been kept at the hospital for postmortem examination, while Police Station Kupwara has taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary legal proceedings. Further investigation is underway. (KNC)
