DC Kupwara flags off ‘Poshan on Wheels’ Campaign, distributes Vidyarambh Certificates

KUPWARA, MARCH 27: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, today flagged off the “Poshan on Wheels” campaign at the DC Office Kupwara aimed at strengthening grassroots nutrition outreach and early childhood development.


The campaign is designed to enhance awareness about nutrition, health, and well-being, particularly among women and children in far-flung and underserved areas of the district.

Through mobile outreach, the initiative seeks to ensure last-mile delivery of key services under various nutrition and child welfare schemes, aligning with ongoing efforts to combat malnutrition and promote holistic development.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of sustained community engagement and inter-departmental coordination in achieving the objectives of the Poshan Abhiyaan.
He emphasized that innovative outreach mechanisms such as “Poshan on Wheels” will play a vital role in reaching vulnerable populations and ensuring inclusive growth.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed Vidyarambh Certificates among children graduating from Anganwadi Centres after attaining six years of age.
The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the children and their parents, reiterating the administration’s commitment to strengthening foundational learning and ensuring a smooth transition to the school education system.


Programme Officer, ICDS Kupwara, Yaar Ali Khan, District Planning & Education Officer, CDPO Kupwara, ZEO Kupwara, besides, ICDS Supervisors, Anganwari Workers and large number of children were present on the occasion.
