DC Pulwama Orders Inquiry, Suspends Salary of Hospital In-Charge Over Alleged Use of Expired DNS

Action to Follow After Completion of Inquiry, Says DC Basharat Qayoom

Pulwama, Oct 4: In response to a viral video alleging that an expired DNS (Dextrose Normal Saline) was administered to a patient at District Hospital Pulwama, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Basharat Qayoom has directed the Medical Superintendent to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter.

The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that pending the outcome of the inquiry, the salary of the hospital employee who is in charge of the concerned section has been withheld. “The Medical Superintendent has been instructed to initiate an immediate inquiry into the incident and submit a detailed report. Until the investigation is completed, the salary of the employee in charge will remain withheld. Further action will follow once the inquiry findings are received,” Qayoom said.

He added that the administration is treating the matter seriously and assured that accountability will be fixed if any lapse is established. [KNT]
