SHOPIAN, FEBRUARY 14: On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta, the Drugs Control Department, Shopian conducted extensive inspections across various villages and market areas of the district from 10 February to 14 February 2026 to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules.


The inspection drive covered Zainapora, Turkawangam, Trenz, Molu Dangerpora, Keller Zealnag, Maspora and the main market area of Shopian.


During the course of inspections, CCTV footage and computerized billing systems of various medical establishments were thoroughly examined to verify adherence to prescribed license conditions and regulatory norms.


The operations of three medical shops were suspended on the spot for violating the conditions of drug sale licenses.
Additionally, ten drug samples were lifted for testing to ensure the availability of quality drugs for the general public.
