Srinagar, June 3: Large parts of Jammu and Kashmir are likely to witness fresh spells of rain and generally cloudy weather over the next three days, with weather experts advising orchardists to avoid spraying operations until conditions improve.
According to the forecast, many areas of Jammu and Kashmir may receive showers on June 4 and June 5, accompanied by generally cloudy skies.
The unsettled weather is expected to continue on June 6, although conditions may remain mostly fine during the first half of the day. However, thundershowers are likely to develop in some areas during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Given the prevailing weather conditions, orchard spraying has not been recommended between June 4 and June 6.
The forecast indicates a gradual improvement from June 7 onward, with mostly fine weather expected across the region through June 9. Nevertheless, isolated locations may still experience brief thundershowers during late afternoon or evening hours.
Orchardists have been advised to undertake spraying activities during morning hours from June 7 onwards when weather conditions are expected to remain relatively stable.
Weathermen have also cautioned that intense showers, gusty winds and lightning strikes remain possible during the forecast period and urged people, particularly farmers and orchard growers, to remain vigilant and monitor local weather conditions. [KNT]
