Kupwara: Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department J&K, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah Tuesday visited Handwara and Chaired a Mega Public Darbar at Town Hall Handwara to take stock of Public grievances and developmental activities. The Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, DDC Member Rajwar, Salman Mir, DDC Member Mawar, Khurshid Ahmad, DDC Member, Nutnoosa, Adv. Zahoor Ahamd, ADDC Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan, ADC Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir, Principal GMC Handwara Dr.Iffat, Chairman, traders Federation Handwara Ijaz Sofi, District Officers, PRIs, besides other representatives and a large number of People of the area attended the Mega Public-Outreach programme. Chairing the Public Darbar Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah said that he was encouraged to see the desire for growth and Development to make Kupwara district one of the leading districts of UT in terms of development among youth. Shah said that tourist attractions of the district like Lolab, Bungas, Keran and Teetwal have become hotspot tourist destinations in North Kashmir, besides youth in Kupwara district are turning to entrepreneurship which is an important untapped source for economic growth. While highlighting the importance of the Public Darbar, Shah said Public out-reach programs act as a bridge between the administration and the people, where highest level government functionaries connect with people. Shah added that GMC Handwara has great potential to become one of the top GMC of the UT as students from across the country will soon start coming in. Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Pandithpori on the occasion demanded speeding up of pace of work on the GMC building and to address the shortage of timber in forest depots of Kupwara district. Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara , Ms. Ayushi Sudan Speaking on the occasion, said that the significance of Public Darbar is bridging gaps between various stakeholders for better policy formulation and implementation through constructive feedback. DC urged the people to make the event fruitful and constructive and give feedback regarding grievances and developmental issues. Vice Chairman, District development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Mir, while welcoming the visit of administrative Secretary in Handwara hoped that now onwards, Health projects will get good attention from the authorities. Vice Chairman demanded up-gradation of SDH Kupwara to District Hospital and speeding up of work of the GMC Handwara. Chairman, traders Fedration Handwara, Ijaz Ahmad Sofi while expressing his gratitude to District adminstration Kupwara said GMC Handwara is a major project of the district which is being focused by District Administration and soon this project will be completed During the event, a documentary depicting work on GMC Handwara building, Associated District Hospital and related hostel facilities were screened which attracted appreciation and applause for District Administration. Three infrastructure development projects which were completed recently by concerned executing agencies were e-inaugurated on the occasion which included construction of Panchayat Bhawan at Dudipora, Construction of health centre at Bakiaakar and up gradation of Palpora-Khanpora road. The people on the occasion expressed their gratitude to the District Administration for organizing Mega Public darbar at Handwara and said that such public outreach programs provide them an opportunity to voice their grievances and developmental issues to expedite the resolution through the appropriate channels. The Chief Guest, Dr. Abid Rashid Shah along with Chairman DDC Kupwara and Deputy Commissioner Kupwara inspected the stalls, interacted with officers and beneficiaries of different CSSs. Later, Administrative Secretary along with Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara and Deputy Commisioner Kupwara paid a visit of GMC Handwara functioning from make shift arrangements, makeshift administrative blocks of GMC and District Hospital Handwara where he interacted with Staff, patients and concerned engineers. Administrative Secretary directed the concerned engineers to speed up the pace of the work so that GMC building is completed and patients and Staff of GMC doesn’t face problems. ADC Handwara, Principal GMC Handwara, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Handwara, EXen R&B and engineers of Housing Board, Tehsildar Handwara and other Officers also accompanied the Administrative Secretary.
