Top government sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the blocked platforms include online sports betting sites, digital casinos offering games like slots and roulette, live dealer platforms, peer-to-peer betting exchanges, as well as satta and matka gambling networks.

Authorities have also targeted real-money gaming applications that involve card and casino-style betting, which were found operating in violation of regulations.

Sources revealed that the total number of such websites blocked so far has reached around 8,400, indicating a sustained crackdown on illegal online betting activities.

A significant portion of these approximately 4,900 platforms have been blocked following the enactment of the Online Gaming Act, reflecting stricter enforcement measures.

Officials said the action aims to curb illegal financial activities, protect users from fraud, and regulate the online gaming ecosystem more effectively.

The government is expected to continue monitoring and taking action against such platforms to ensure compliance with existing laws and safeguard public interest. (KNC)
