Abu Dhabi, Mar 5: The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has issued an advisory urging Indian nationals currently residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities amid the prevailing regional situation.
In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Indian Embassy stated that all Indian citizens in the UAE should remain calm, alert and strictly adhere to the instructions and safety advisories issued by the UAE authorities from time to time.
The embassy also informed that due to exceptional circumstances, the UAE airspace and regular scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended. However, limited non-scheduled flights operated by Indian and UAE airlines have started to multiple destinations in India, subject to operational and safety approvals. Stranded Indian nationals have been advised to contact their respective airlines to avail these services.
Additionally, the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security has announced a waiver of overstay fines for visitors whose visas expired after February 28 and who were unable to leave the country due to the prevailing situation.
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai are continuing to function normally and are providing passport, visa and consular services.
For any assistance, Indian nationals can contact the 24×7 helpline numbers provided by the embassy or reach out through official email channels.
The Government of India has reiterated that the safety and well-being of Indians abroad remains a top priority and said that the embassy and consulate are closely monitoring developments while maintaining coordination with UAE authorities and community leaders.(KNC)
