June 20: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, J&K Police in Ganderbal achieved another significant success by apprehending a notorious Drug Peddler and recovered a substantial quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
A police team of Police Post Nagbal, during Naka Checking at Dar Mohallah Baba-Diryadin apprehended a suspicious individual. Upon search, Bhung Patri (Ganja-like substance) weighing approximately 1.848 kilograms was recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Md Qudus son of Md Sabir resident of Bihari Gunj, District Madhepura, Bihar. During preliminary enquiry, it surfaced that the accused was actively involved in peddling narcotic substances among local youth, thereby posing a serious threat to society and public health. Acting promptly, the police took cognizance of the matter and registered a case FIR No.106/2026, under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act at Police Station Ganderbal. Further investigation into the case is underway to ascertain backward and forward linkages of the drug network.
Police remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the general public to extend their cooperation by sharing any information related to drug peddling or other criminal activities.
