August 01: Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking, J&K Police in Pulwama arrested three drug peddlers during naka checking within the jurisdiction of Police Station Litter.
A police party from Police Station Litter, while conducting patrolling and naka checking at Wasoora Wudder near the Poultry Farm, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01M-4904 travelling from Chakoora towards Pulwama. During the search of the vehicle, police recovered approximately 3.470 kilograms of a charas powder-like substance, which was seized in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure. The vehicle used in the commission of the offence was also seized. The accused have been identified as Jamsheed Ahmad Shah, son of Mohd Shafi Shah, resident of Chandhar, Pampore; Ishtiyaq Ahmad Mir, son of Gh. Mohd Mir, resident of Wasoora; and Shabir Ahmad Malik, son of Gh. Ahmad Malik, a resident of Wasoora.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 100/2026 has been registered at Police Station Litter under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source of the contraband and to identify any forward and backward linkages.
Police remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and urges the public to continue supporting the police by sharing information related to narcotics and other unlawful activities.
