SRINAGAR, JULY 20: The Jal Shakti Department has rebutted the news report of shortage of water in a Srinagar locality Syed Shah Kamal-ud-Din Colony appearing in a section of press, maintaining that there is no dearth of water supply to the area.
In its rebuttal, the department said that the locality gets water supply in the morning and evening hours, daily.
“There was a shutdown in the 20 MGD pipeline due to necessary repairs. As such, the supply got only affected and not disrupted, during the last 3 days. We have already laid a pipeline under the Languishing Programme for augmenting the supply to this area,” it said.
However, the department said that additional supply of water to the area for marriage, the same can be done with the help of a water tanker, if required by the inhabitants.
