Srinagar, July 19 (GNS): One person was killed and five others were injured after an Alto car met with an accident at Aramdaka in Mangit area of tehsil Khari on Sunday morning.

Officials told GNS that the accident occurred around 8:15 am when the Alto was on its way to Banihal from Mangit.

A joint rescue operation was launched by NGO Banihal volunteers and QRT Khari, who reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Mohd Lone, son of Ali Mohd Lone, 50 years.

The injured have been identified as Mohd Ishaq, son of Abdul Rehman Khanday, 28 years; Mohd Rafiq, son of Abdul Rashid, 31 years; Nawaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Ahad, 33 years; Zaba Begum, wife of Abdul Ahad, 45 years; and Hamad, son of Nawaz Ahmed, 9 years.
