J&K High Court Announces Summer Vacation; Vacation Judges Appointed for Urgent Cases

Srinagar, June 4:(KNC)The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has announced its Summer Vacation schedule for 2026, with court proceedings set to remain suspended from June 8 to June 27 (both days inclusive).

According to an order issued by the Registrar General, the period from June 8 to June 13 will be observed as a No Work Period, during which regular court functioning will remain suspended.

To ensure uninterrupted judicial access during the summer recess, the Chief Justice has nominated Vacation Judges for both the Jammu and Srinagar Wings of the High Court under Rule 12 of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Rules, 1999, to hear urgent matters.

For the Jammu Wing, Justice Rajesh Sekhri has been designated as Vacation Judge from June 15 to June 20, while Justice Sanjay Parihar will discharge vacation duties from June 22 to June 27.

For the Srinagar Wing, Justice Shahzad Azeem will hear urgent cases from June 15 to June 20, whereas Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani has been assigned vacation duties from June 22 to June 27.

The notification states that the designated Vacation Judges will hear all urgent matters during their respective tenures, ensuring that essential judicial services remain available throughout the summer vacation period.(KNC)
