June 05: Continuing its relentless drive against the menace of narcotics under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan,” J&K Police in Ganderbal has attached immovable properties worth approximately ₹2.13 Crores under the provisions of Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 23/2024, registered under sections 8/21, 29 NDPS Act at Police Station Lar.
The attached properties, situated at Zainakote, Srinagar, are registered in the names of Parvaiz Ahmad Hanga and his wife Tabassum Parvaiz, residents of Karfali Mohalla, Srinagar. During the course of investigation, it was established that the said assets had been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking. Acting on the evidence gathered, the properties were identified as illegally acquired assets and subsequently attached in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act.
This significant action marks another major step by J&K Police in dismantling the financial infrastructure that sustains and promotes narcotics trafficking. By targeting the economic gains derived from the drug trade, Police aims to deter offenders and weaken organized drug networks operating in the region.
Police remains steadfast in its commitment to combating the drug menace and will continue to identify, freeze, attach, and confiscate assets acquired through illegal narcotics activities.
