May 12: In continuation of the sustained crackdown against drug peddling and illegal encroachments under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, J&K Police in Baramulla demolished an illegally constructed cowshed raised on State land by a known drug peddler namely Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Gulzar Ahmad Bhat resident of Yakhmanpora Pattan.
The accused is involved in FIR No. 05/2025 under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Pattan. Acting on due legal procedure and after proper identification of the encroached State land, the demolition was carried out in the presence of the Executive Magistrate along with the concerned Numberdar and Chowkidar.
The action reflects the firm resolve of Police to dismantle the infrastructure and unlawful gains associated with narcotics-related activities. Such measures are aimed at sending a strong message to individuals involved in drug trafficking and other illegal activities that no violation of law will be tolerated.
Police reiterates its commitment towards making society drug-free and urges the general public to continue supporting the police in eradicating the menace of drugs from the district.
