February 12: In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Awantipora have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and have seized 03 tractors involved in illegal transportation of minerals.
Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a Police party of Police Station Tral headed by SHO PS Tral Inspector Tajamul Islam seized three tractors bearing registration number JK13H-3198, JK13C-9305 and JK13A-9352.
The person involved in the said crime have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Khalil Bhat, Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Ab Razaq Mir and Asif Ali Bhat son of Ali Mohd Bhat, all residents of Nowdal Tral.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 09/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral and further investigation has been initiated.
